Context

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Policy Research and Migration Law and the overall supervision of the Head of Office, the incumbent is working on communication activities related to the project “National Contact Point Austria in the European Migration Network (EMN)”.

Core Functions / Responsibilities

1. Organize communication and visibility activities for EMN Austria (e.g. events, project website maintenance and updates, newsletter, social media, visibility materials, dissemination of research outputs) and assist in monitoring these activities including the monitoring of budgets.

2. Organize in-person and online events for EMN Austria (such as meetings, trainings, workshops and conferences). IOM is committed to a diverse and inclusive environment. 3. Prepare and review briefing notes, talking points, presentations, event reports and other communication-related texts.

4. Act as the Unit’s focal point for communication organization, involving liaison with diverse organizational units within the Country Office and EMN external parties to initiate and respond to information requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on communication actions, etc.

5. Contribute to the maintenance of a network of relevant stakeholders in the field of migration and asylum, including the update of a contact database.

6. Participate in meetings and conferences and moderate events.

7. Provide guidance to communication intern(s) and junior staff. 8. Perform other related duties as assigned.
