Mission and objectives

In Saudi Arabia, the United Nations is represented by 22 agencies, funds and specialised programmes.
The country team (known by its acronym UNCT) is made up of representatives of these organisations. As head of the country team, the UN Resident Coordinator (RC) guides and supports the work of the UNCT, ensuring effective coordination and cooperation across the mandates of each organisation.
As the main support structure for the activities of the Resident Coordinator and the country team, the Office of the Resident Coordinator (RCO) strengthens the joint activities of the United Nations system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Its purpose is to maximise, in a coordinated manner, the work of the United Nations so that the system can provide a collective, coherent and integrated response to national priorities and needs, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals and other international commitments.

Context

RCO KSA is seeking the support of an online volunteer to conduct research on the various media outlets and journalists in Saudi Arabia, and compiling their contact details.
The volunteer will be asked to search for and validate the existence of media contacts sourcing websites, social media, and journalists contact details (email, phone number) associated with the targeted organizations.
The Volunteer will provide a final output of an updated excel sheet containing an updated list of media contact in the country and the region, with their contact information. The volunteer is also expected to deliver this in .csv format we also want it to be in .csv format that allows it to link it to mailchimp and to be able to distribute the press releases as email and whatsap campaigns.
Regular communication will be facilitated through Microsoft Teams and email to address any task-related queries. Upon completion, UNV Arab States will issue a certificate of appreciation to each volunteer for their contribution.

Task description

Through this assignment, online volunteers will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with RCO activities while actively contributing to the establishment of partnerships with media outlets in KSA and the region. This will entail conducting thorough online research to identify and collect contact information for these organizations, thereby enhancing our database of potential partners and enabling us to conduct effective WhatsApp outreach campaigns.
