Org. Setting and Reporting
• Supervisor: Field Relief Services Officer
• Supervisee/s: Not applicable
• Working conditions: Office environment with access to telephone, PC and other automation equipment, internet, and intranet. Some local travel may be required.
Responsibilities
• Need and Case Assessment:
– Coordinate field work with Area Relief and Social Services Officer (ARSSO) and Emergency Social Workers (ESWs) in terms of periodical planning and assignments
– Follow up on work progress and review assessment activities and recommendations,
– Ensure regular update of information in RRIS related to registration of Palestine Refugees from Syria (PRS) and assessment,
– Review case files ensuring inclusion of updated and proper documents,
– Conduct random joint assessment visits and quality checks.
– Occasionally perform spot check visits of assessed cases,
• Emergency Cash Assistance:
– Review received applications,
– Monitor response action on received applications,
– Review and discuss assessment reports and recommendation,
– Follow up on receipt and use of assistance in accordance to approve assessed needs.
– Prepare regular financial and monitoring reports on assistance and utilization.
• Post distribution Monitoring (PDM):
– Participate in HQs/JFO discussions regarding the use of common PDM.
– Propose the required sample for the quarterly PDM.
– Work at Area Office on implementation plan of PDM in accordance to agreed samples, ensuring deployment of different teams than those previously conducted assessment, at certain geographical area.
– Jointly conduct random household visits, telephone contact, office interviews as well as Focus Group Discussions.
– Review daily digital inputs ensuring quality of monitoring and draw attention to any concerns,
– Participate in data analysis and preparation of monitoring report
• Garden Camp Coordination:
– Coordinate with Garden SW and ensure to have up to date list of beneficiaries.
– Participate in Gaeden Camp field coordination meetings and Community Representatives meetings and ensure action points are followed.
– Perform other duties as may be assigned.
– Monitor Emergency Activity Info database, follow up with Emergency Social Workers (ESW) on pending activities related to referrals, surveys and PRS queries and provide monthly reports related to the data updated in the system and take part of interagency working groups (ex.: Basic needs, Livelihood).
• Activity Info. Database:
– Responsible for cleaning up the activity info database and follow up on all pending cases with the frontline staff.
– Prepare monthly and annual achievement reports from the daily work updated on activity info.
– Improve the database and work together with the social workers to make it more user friendly.
Competencies

Education
• A university degree in sociology, social work, business administration, computer science, or any related field.

Benefits:
LDC Band “F” Monthly Salary JD 1,057.70 Other benefits include medical insurance. Dependency allowance is subject to eligibility.

General Information:
•This vacancy notice is open to internal and external candidates. Only candidates residing in Jordan, and within commuting distance of the duty station with authorization to work in the duty station at the time of application are eligible to apply.
•The Agency will not assume responsibility or accountability to support or facilitate the issuance of work permit in Jordan, and without a valid work permit, the appointment may be rescinded.
•Since the Vacancy is an Area Staff post, the Agency will not provide coverage for relocation costs.
•Preference will be given to registered Palestine refugees and candidates assisting the Agency to meet its commitment to gender parity. UNRWA welcomes applications from qualified candidates with disabilities.

•A roster may be created from the selection exercise, and that successful candidates may be appointed to the same post. In the case of multiple or recurring posts, that a roster will be created from which the candidates will be selected for appointment.
